Eighteen months ago, after years of inactivity, I decided I really needed to start exercising. I had no problem with my weight but I was suffering from persistent low back ache and had noticed a general weakening of my muscle strength. I contacted Dave and arrived for my first PT session with some trepidation – in a one to one session there is no option to hide at the back of the class! I needn’t have worried as he immediately put me at my ease. After a brief discussion about my goals, he put me through my paces to determine the level of my fitness. He was positive and encouraging throughout. The next day my back ache was much reduced although I possibly didn’t notice it as every muscle in my body, including ones I didn’t know I had, was aching! Undeterred, and having enjoyed my first session, I returned the following week and have been seeing Dave regularly ever since.

Each session with Dave is different so there is no risk of getting bored doing the same thing every week. He pushes me to achieve my best but is always very supportive. We chat, put the world to rights and have the occasional argument. (I am sure he makes me work twice as hard when he is losing the argument so that I can’t answer back!) The time flies by and I invariably leave feeling much better than I did when I arrived.

Over the last eighteen months I have become much stronger and noticeably toned. I have also lost a few pounds in weight and have regained the figure I had thirty years ago prior to having children. I now rarely suffer from back ache and this has had an enormous impact on the way I feel on a day to day basis. Although my sixtieth birthday is looming on the horizon I feel fitter and stronger than I ever have before. I have so much more energy and I feel fantastic physically. I hope to remain this fit well into the future and intend to carry on seeing Dave on a regular basis.

I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Dave as a personal trainer. He is knowledgeable, positive, encouraging and, above all else, great fun to train with.
